In early December 2022, Swedish digital audio pioneer Dirac Research and globally leading semiconductor company ADI held a two-day technical seminar in Shanghai. The two sides reached a consensus to deepen cooperation based on Dirac‘s most high-end audio algorithm solution, Dirac Professional, and ADI‘s latest Griffin series audio processors, effectively meeting the high-end audio system needs of the automotive industry, and continuously optimizing acoustic performance for local automotive customers to provide more complete A more immersive and high-quality in-car listening experience.
Dirac Professional, a high-end audio algorithm based on Dirac MIMO hybrid phase correction technology, allows multiple speakers in the car to cooperate and compensate for each other, bringing a "super" speaker experience, eliminating the negative impact of the cabin on sound, reshaping a new sound field, allowing every seat to experience low, clean, and clear sound, bringing a HiFi room like listening experience to the cabin. At present, the new generation models of NIO (ET7/ET5/ES7) have been equipped with this solution to achieve excellent sound quality and obtain the "Dirac Pro" sound certification.
Dirac China‘s General Manager Ye Tao said, "Dirac is a technology company with scientific research and sound quality geek genes, focusing on using software algorithm methods to compensate for hardware sound systems. Its exclusive patented spatial sound compensation technology can effectively correct the harsh sound environment inside the car, allowing users to enjoy the ultimate sound experience inside the car. It has been applied to Volvo (Volvo) Industry leading companies such as NIO, BYD, etc.
The detailed optimization of spatial sound requires the support of DSP computing power. ADI is a leader in computing power resources in the field of audio processors. Its powerful computing power, ample cache, and efficient data handling can help Dirac‘s algorithms fully unleash their power. Currently, our top-level algorithm package Dirac Professional runs on ADI‘s Griffin series processors and has become a benchmark for industry solutions
Dirac‘s patented digital sound optimization and spatialization technology can be applied to different levels of speaker systems. This high-end digital solution, Dirac Professional, will be used for ADI hardware integration and run on Griffin series chips, providing solutions such as sound field expansion and active comfort zone for automotive users. While the two become perfect partners, they are also expected to become key factors in achieving differentiation in the automotive industry.
In terms of high-level systems, Dirac has currently run in with the host hardware of different brands and has successfully landed on high-end models such as Rolls Royce Guster/Phantom, Bentley Continental/Moushang, BMW 3/5/6/7 Series/X Series/M Series, Volvo XC/S/V Series, and NIO ET7/ES7.
Shen Fei, System Manager of ADI Asia Pacific, stated: For over 20 years, ADI has been continuously striving in the field of automotive cockpit. The SHARC and Griffin series audio processors have accumulated a wide range of professional users and partners in the high-quality cockpit audio market. We have been committed to providing a more efficient, computationally robust, serialized, and scalable product portfolio. We innovate almost every two years, while maintaining compatibility between the tool chain and the ecological environment. We greatly benefit our partners and end customers Provide convenience for iterative development of users.
The Griffin series is equipped with a 1GHz operating frequency per core and MByte level of ample cache, supporting 3D spatial audio, over 20 channels, and other configurations for deployment in the cockpit.
Dirac is a leader in audio quality optimization algorithms in the automotive industry. We appreciate Dirac‘s dedication to pursuing the ultimate in audio quality and realistic reproduction, and have seen it quickly gain high recognition from high-end models and end customers in China in recent years. The in-depth cooperation between ADI and Dirac can provide strong support for companies and customers in the industry who pursue the ultimate sound experience
