Understand FOC and its working principle

Time:2022-12-25 Views:1437
FOC is a term in the electromechanical field, which is called field oriented control in full. It is a control technology applied to motors. Through this technology, the speed of the motor can be flexibly adjusted, so that more stable power can be obtained, thus achieving rich functions.
The working mode of the motor is to convert electric energy into kinetic energy. Through the control of current, variable magnetic field can be generated to make the rotor rotate with the help of magnetic field. In the traditional industrial field, the motor is just a simple power source, which can output power at a constant speed. Now, many manufacturers need to change the motor speed at any time and have a faster response rate, so FOC technology is introduced. It can control the magnetic field with very high accuracy. When the magnetic field changes, the speed or torque of the motor will certainly change. This is a new type of control mode, and has obvious advantages over traditional technologies.
Of course, FOC technology can not be applied to all kinds of motors. At present, it is mainly used in DC driven brushless motors or permanent magnet synchronous motors. In addition to rapidly changing the size of the magnetic field, it can also change the direction of the magnetic field, that is, it can flexibly control the forward and reverse rotation of the motor. In many frontier fields, such as the rapidly developing electric vehicle industry and robot research and development, this technology is needed to achieve rapid response. With sensors that can sense the surrounding environment, artificial intelligence can be put to use, and robots or electric vehicles can have more intelligent capabilities to achieve autonomous control and complete more complex tasks.
