    BMS Overview

    Battery Management System (BMS) is a management system specially for lithium battery of electric vehicles. The key difference between new energy vehicles and Chinese traditional fuel vehicles is that the power battery is the main source of key power drive. However, it is difficult to control the product quality during mass production and manufacturing of lithium batteries. There are generally slight differences in the power of battery cells when they leave the factory. In addition, with the environment of the actual operation area, aging, overcharging, overdischarge and other factors, the inconsistency between batteries is becoming more obvious, and the battery efficiency and life are getting worse. In serious cases, it is likely to cause explosion and other potential safety hazards.

    Battery, motor and electric control technology are the most dominant technologies of the battery car, and the most dominant function of electric control is the battery management system.

    Application fields of BMS

    The application fields of BMS can be divided into automobile, industry and consumption.

    The automobile industry includes passenger cars, buses, and special vehicles, usually 48-96 in series, with a voltage of 200V-500V.

    Industrial fields include energy storage, industrial handling robots, automatic forklifts and patrol vehicles, which are usually connected in series with 16-48 strings, and the voltage is within 200V.

    The consumption areas are mainly electric bicycles, electric tricycles, and electric tools, which are usually connected in series with a voltage of less than 60 V.
