Wei Zhejia pointed out that the 3nm process will be mainly used in the field of high-efficiency application computing and smart phones. It is expected that 3nm will be another large-scale generation process after 5nm. Wei Zhejia said that due to the strong demand of special processes such as image sensors and non-volatile memory, TSMC will expand its capacity of 28 nm in mainland China, Japan and Chinese mainland Taiwan.

In the fourth quarter, TSMC had accumulated $8 billion in customer advances.
