The two sides have achieved remarkable results in cooperation and jointly promoted the progress and industrialization of LiDAR technology. A number of existing series of Sagitar Lidar are equipped with AMS OSram lasers, including liDAR and solutions for autonomous driving, ADAS, robotics and other fields.
As the world‘s leading provider of smart sensor and light source solutions, AMS Osram has a unique and comprehensive LiDAR solution that covers multiple technologies such as EEL and VCSEL. From bare crystals and packaged lasers to integrated modules, AMS OSRAM has the ability to provide a complete range of LiDAR solutions to meet the needs of customers in different application scenarios.
In particular, the EEL SPL series of side-emitting lasers from AMS Osram have become a major choice in the automotive lidar market with their advanced technology and reliable quality, playing a key role in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and driverless taxis (robotaxis).
The uniqueness of EEL technology comes from AMS OSram‘s infrared laser diodes designed specifically for pulse operation for liDAR applications in automotive autonomous driving. EEL technology uses cutting-edge multi-layer nanostacked transmitter technology to provide high power while maintaining a small size, making it the technology of choice for long-range LiDAR. In addition, infrared laser diodes with a wavelength of 905nm have the highest efficiency on the market. And it can operate at extremely short pulses (as low as 2ns) while delivering excellent power.
Thanks to the support of AMS OSram EEL SPL series edge emitting lasers, Sagitar‘s on-board liDAR has made comprehensive breakthroughs in ranging, resolution, size, weight and point output, releasing a new generation of medium-long range Lidar MX.

Prior to this release, Sagitar‘s M1 and M2 are also equipped with AMS OSram EEL SPL series edge emitting lasers.
The Sagitar M1&M1 Plus is equipped with AMS OSRAM SPL series EEL lasers, which can achieve ultra-long measurement distances of 200m. Higher resolution, the horizontal Angle and vertical Angle are accurate to 0.2°, and the vertical resolution of the ROI region is dynamically improved to 0.1°, which is convenient to see distant obstacles earlier, so that the vehicle can respond in advance, improve the automatic driving experience, and make the size of the liDAR smaller, defining the mass production thickness standard of the previous vehicle liDAR 45mm. The M1&M1 Plus produces more points, 787,500pts/s in single echo mode. The M2 is further equipped with AMS OSram‘s SPL low temperature drift high frequency EEL, which achieves a double jump in ranging and angular resolution compared with the previous generation M1 Plus, with the maximum ranging capability increased to 250m and the best angular resolution increased to 0.1°×0.1°, greatly improving the detection ability of small obstacles at a distance. At the same time, the global output points doubled to 1,575,000pts/s.
SPL series low temperature bleached high frequency EEL, as a low temperature bleached product with small luminous size, has a unique advantage in improving the signal-to-noise ratio. According to experiments, when the temperature range is between -40 ° C and 125 ° C, the background noise of 40nm received by the original receiving end can be effectively reduced to 20nm, which is equivalent to reducing the noise to 50% of the original noise, thereby increasing the signal-to-noise ratio to twice the original.
Mr. Liu Letian, co-founder and CTO of Zutang, said: "Lidar is very demanding in product selection, both to ensure the stability and reliability of the laser, but also to achieve a low wavelength drift coefficient with temperature, while maintaining a small luminous size while achieving high power output. This is why AMS EEL SPL series edge-to-edge lasers are ideal for automotive liDAR."

Sagitar has a long history of cooperation with AMS OSram. In March of this year, Audo Kemp, CEO and Chairman of AMS Osram, visited Sagitar‘s headquarters in Shenzhen, visited the company‘s product display and had an in-depth exchange with Dr. Chunxin Qiu, Chairman and Chief scientist of Sagitar, and Mr. Chunchao Qiu, CEO. The two sides discussed the development trend of liDAR technology, product cooperation and other issues, and reached a consensus on further cooperation. In the exchange, Sagitar expressed its recognition and gratitude to AMS OSram for its technology and support. The two sides discussed their intention to further expand the scope of cooperation to smart transportation, smart travel and other fields, and exchanged views on deepening the multi-level partnership. Looking ahead, the two sides look forward to continuing to deepen cooperation and promote more liDAR technology-related innovations in the automotive sector. The two sides will maintain a close partnership and grow together, in order to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win, and bring breakthrough changes to the Lidar industry in China and even the world.
At the end of the visit, Odo Kemp commented: "I am very grateful to our customers for their continued trust and recognition of AMS OSram.
