Beijing, China, April 10, 2024- MathWorks, a leading global developer of mathematical computing software, announced today that Danish collaborative robot company Universal Robots has joined the Mathworks Connections program, further strengthening its partnership with MathWorks, a leader in mathematical computing software. The plan aims to develop and release MATLAB based? And Simulink? Provide support for supplementary commercial products, training, and consulting organizations. In 2023, MathWorks became a UR+partner in the Universal Robots ecosystem. This ecosystem is composed of over 300 development companies approved to develop products for the UR platform.
The two companies have worked closely together to develop the Robotics System Toolbox, which will be launched in 2023? Support package for. Engineers can use MathWorks MATLAB and Robotics System Toolbox to design, simulate, test MATLAB based collaborative robot applications, and deploy them on Universal Robots collaborative robots.

MathWorks researcher Jim Tung said, "Along with the addition of UR+to MathWorks, Universal Robots has also joined the Connections program, officially demonstrating the two companies‘ commitment to helping engineers develop advanced collaborative robot applications and ensuring compatibility with new versions of MathWorks. Universal Robots‘ market leadership, as well as MATLAB and Simulink‘s ability to accelerate innovation, will continue to support integrators and end-users in better achieving increasingly complex automated workflows."
"We are pleased to join the Connections program and expand our collaboration with MathWorks," said Jesper Kildegaard Poulsen, Senior Director of Digital Ecosystems at Universal Robots. "At Universal Robots, we are constantly expanding the scope of automated execution and reducing its difficulty. We look forward to collaborating with MathWorks to continue working towards our common goal of simplifying advanced collaborative robot deployments for robotics engineers."

Joining RoboCup 2024 with MathWorks and Universal Robots
As another testament to the close cooperation between the two companies, Universal Robots will collaborate with MathWorks to hold the Autonomous Robot Manipulation Challenge in Eindhoven, Netherlands in July this year, as a subsidiary event of RoboCup 2024. The ARM Challenge is an education and science competition that began in 2021, requiring young researchers and students to solve problems related to autonomous robot control, jointly organized by RoboCup and MathWorks. As the co organizer of 2024, Universal Robots will provide its UR5e robot for use by participants in the final rounds of the competition.
