Research shows that the large-sized LCD market will approach saturation by 2023

    Large LCD panels are mainly used in televisions, laptops, desktop displays, tablets, and other products including interactive whiteboards and car displays.

    The report points out that from June 2020 to June 2021, the price of LCD panels will generally rise, panel manufacturers in Chinese Mainland and Taiwan have expanded their production capacity, and Korean panel manufacturers have postponed the time to close their production lines. Therefore, the global production capacity of large-sized LCD panels will increase by 8.5% in 2021, 9.3% in 2022, and only slightly from 2023 as the market approaches saturation.

    During 2022-2026, BOE, headquartered in Chinese Mainland, will still be the world‘s largest manufacturer of large-sized LCD panels, accounting for 28-29.3% of global production capacity.

    During this period, if BOE completes its third 10.5G production line or acquires production lines from its peers, it will account for over 30% of global production capacity by the end of 2026. If BOE and Huaxing Optoelectronics do not add 10.5/11G production lines, their competitors, Youda, Qunchuang, and Hanyu Caijing, can maintain a global market share of over 20%.
