Diodes Corporation (Nasdaq: DIOD) today launched two new single chip single pole Hall effect switch product combinations designed specifically for proximity sensing in battery powered product applications. These devices only require 1.1 at 1.85V μ The ultra-low power supply current of A only needs 1.6 at 1.6V to 5.5V μ A‘s ultra-low power supply current is very suitable for portable devices powered by batteries such as smartphones, laptops, and wearable devices. This series of devices is also suitable for household appliances, game consoles, and industrial hardware.
The working voltage of these Hall effect switches is between 1.6V and 5.5V, which can be directly powered by the battery inside the portable device, thus saving the area and cost of power conversion. In the dual output AH139x series, output 1 corresponds to N-pole, while output 2 corresponds to S-pole, with typical operating points of 25G (AH1391) and 30G (AH1392). The single output of the AH138x series corresponds to the S-pole on the part marking side of the device, with typical operating points of 18G (AH1381), 30G (AH1382), and 45G (AH1383).
The narrow operating range of these switches ensures lower magnetic propagation, while their chopping stability design provides minimal switch point drift and excellent temperature stability. In order to improve durability, these devices have powerful Human Body Model (HBM) Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection: AH138x series is 8kV, and AH139x series is 6kV. In addition, these devices have push-pull outputs without the need for external pull-up resistors, simplifying system design, saving circuit board space, and reducing bill of materials.
To ensure suitability for small product applications, all devices adopt the industry‘s smallest packaging: DFN1010-4 and DFN1410-4. AH1381, AH1382, and AH1383 versions also offer SOT23 packaging. The AH138x series offers DFN packaging and SOT23 packaging. The AH139x series offers DFN packaging. The above models and the complete product combination of Hall effect switches are included in the Hall effect sensor device selection tool page.
