Melexis, a global microelectronics engineering company, announced today that it has launched the latest motor drive chip MLX81334, which can significantly optimize the thermal valve (precise battery temperature control) and expansion valve (heat pump refrigeration cycle) of electric vehicles, significantly increasing the range of electric vehicles. The MLX81334 has extended memory and supports OTA (Over the Air Download Technology), further improving the embedded motor driver chip product portfolio of Mailaixin and enabling advanced software functionality.
The motor driver chip MLX81334 based on LIN has a rated current of 1A and can be deployed in mechanical and electrical management systems. This single-chip device can efficiently drive small DC motors, brushless DC motors, or stepper motors. Each chip is equipped with an embedded microcontroller (including a 16 bit application processor and independent communication processor), four FET half bridge drivers, data conversion circuits, and LIN or serial interfaces. The MLX81334 has 64KB of on-chip memory (MLX81332 is 32KB), providing sufficient memory space for running more complex software and enabling more secure diagnostic functions, making it easy to obtain critical calibration data. In addition, MLX81334 also supports OTA updates.

Melexis has applied its profound expertise in silicon on insulator (SOI) technology to launch this driver chip, successfully combining excellent operational stability with high-level functional integration, enabling high-power operation in a compact form factor. This device occupies very little circuit board space and can be applied in the deployment of electromechanical equipment with strict space requirements.
The driving chip MLX81334 of Melexis adopts 5mm × 5mm 32 pin QFN package, suitable for 12V and 24V automotive systems, with integrated over temperature, over current, over voltage, and under voltage protection functions.
The demand for high-power drive hardware with compact PCBs is increasing in the new generation of automotive electromechanical devices, and our single chip products can bring more compact thermal valves to electric vehicles, "said Marc Lambrechts, product line manager for embedded motor drive chips at Melexis, By reducing material costs and maintaining excellent cost-effectiveness, our automotive customers can develop competitive thermal management systems. In addition, our experienced engineers can provide corresponding technical support to help customers achieve the correct design at once
