GRAS‘s new production line test microphone introduces revolutionary EQset ™ Technology, which means high cost performance, easy to use and reduced measurement error.
GRAS Sound&Vibration, a leading testing and measurement solution in the world, under Axiometrix Solutions, today released a new production line testing microphone, aiming to improve the testing efficiency and accuracy in the field of consumer audio and telecommunications.
New GRAS EQ 40PM EQset ™ The micro production line test microphone is a 20 kHz pressure microphone with a dynamic range of 30 dB (a) to 120 dB SPL (<3% THD). More importantly, it is the first microphone to adopt EQset technology, which is a revolutionary new breakthrough. It can ensure that each EQ 40PM microphone has a fixed sensitivity and a flat response curve of all frequencies, and can be used out of the box.
GRAS EQ 40PM is an industry standard size (34 mm long ¼ Inch microphone). But with EQset technology and unparalleled environmental stability, this microphone is suitable for any production line, especially for cost-effective entry-level test settings.
EQset provides uniform and fixed sensitivity and flat response curve for each EQ 40PM. EQ The "equalization" of 40PM minimizes the measurement uncertainty, greatly simplifies the microphone setting, inspection and replacement in the production setup, and eliminates the correction when setting up a new production line and replacing the microphone in the existing production line. Simplification of settings and other tasks also saves time, not only the settings themselves, but also the training time of operators. However, in operation, EQ 40PM, which supports EQset technology, also has an additional advantage: it eliminates the inherent risk of misjudgment of good products that is common when testing microphones with other production lines in the market.
The consistent fixed sensitivity and flat response curve of EQ 40PM means that there is no need to calibrate each microphone separately, so there is no need to store the calibration information on the microphone through TEDS. This allows the EQ 40PM microphone to be used with any CCP-based system already used on the production line or the audio sound card system using 48V phantom power supply, so there is no need to purchase new equipment or reassemble existing CCP-based equipment.
Compared with other production line microphones, GRAS EQ 40PM, which supports EQset technology, has a unique advantage of more stable performance. The new sensing element used in the new EQ 40PM design reduces the sensitivity change to the current level. When used in a typical production line, there is no need for compensation, which further reduces the time required for calculation and correction, as well as the risk of misjudgment and failure of good products.
According to R é mi Guastavino, product director of GRAS Sound&Vibration, "By introducing EQset technology, we have fulfilled our commitment to constantly seek new, cost-effective and high-precision testing solutions for production line settings around the world. Innovation is our core, and GRAS EQ 40PM and EQset technology are our latest progress. The market can expect more research and development results from GRAS in the near future."
EQset and EQ 40PM have received good response after being recommended to many acoustic and production experts in relevant industries.
