On June 30, SMIC international, a leading domestic foundry enterprise, announced that Dr. Zhou Meisheng, executive vice president of technology research and development and core technician of the company, would no longer hold any position in the company due to retirement.
SMIC international pointed out in the announcement that at present, the company‘s technology research and development work is normal, and Dr. Zhou Meisheng‘s retirement will not have a significant adverse impact on the company‘s overall R & D strength. According to the data, before joining SMIC international, Zhou Meisheng served as the chief technology officer of Fanlin semiconductor equipment technology company in China. Previously, he served as the vice president of SMIC international technology research and development center, and worked in Singapore licensed Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Taiwan integrated circuit manufacturing Co., Ltd. successively. Since 2017, he has served as the executive vice president of SMIC international technology research and development, responsible for the company‘s R & D and management during his tenure.
Zhou Meisheng participated in the R & D work of SMIC during his tenure. SMIC said that the patents applied for by Zhou Meisheng during his tenure were not the patents of a single inventor and were all service inventions. The ownership of the aforesaid patents belongs to the company, and there is no dispute or potential dispute involving patents. His resignation will not affect the integrity of the company‘s patent rights.
