In March, global semiconductor sales reached US $50.6 billion, up 1.1% month on month. According to the data disclosed by the semiconductor industry association (SIA), the sales in the first quarter of 2022 totaled US $151.7 billion, a slight decrease of 0.5% month on month, but a year-on-year increase of 23%.
"Compared with the first quarter of last year, global semiconductor sales remained strong in the first quarter of 2022, with growth in all major regional markets and product categories. In addition to the year-on-year growth in sales in the Americas, sales in Europe (25.7%), Japan (20.4%), Asia Pacific / all other regions (17.9%) and China (17.3%) also increased compared with March 2021). Sales in Asia Pacific / all other regions (2.9%), Europe (2.6%), Japan (1.4%) and China (1.0%) increased month on month, but decreased slightly in the Americas (- 1.5%).
