STHV200 high integration high-voltage driver reduces the size of high-performance ultrasonic scanners and simplifies design

Time:2023-07-22 Views:795
STHV200 STHV200 ultrasonic IC of STHV200 is a monolithic integrated linear driver, pulse driver and clamping circuit, switch and diagnostic circuit, which simplifies the design of medical and industrial scanners, reduces the size and reduces the cost of materials.
The linear driving output current of STHV200 is 3A, and the pulse driving output current is 2A. It is mainly used to drive advanced wheeled medical ultrasound diagnostic instruments, industrial non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment, and piezoelectric transmitters. The linear drive and pulse drive circuits each have two channels, sharing a common high-voltage output node, making it convenient for users to flexibly choose the most suitable output according to the application. STHV200 has three working modes: pulse wave, continuous wave and elastic imaging. Pulse wave mode is used for whole body tissue imaging, continuous wave mode is used for dynamic measurement of Bioindicator, such as blood flow, and elastic imaging is used to determine organ health and tumors.
Each linear driver is an in phase operational amplifier, with a four stage programmable gain that can increase the output signal to 180Vpp. Each channel has improved low noise and harmonic performance, operating at a frequency of up to 20 MHz at maximum gain and up to 25 MHz at minimum gain setting. Both channels benefit from a diode free output circuit design that minimizes distortion, while a dedicated circuit that minimizes burr injection, combined with fast switching time, can capture near-field images.

The pulse generator channel is a half bridge driver, and the maximum Saturation current of the high and low side transistors can be set to 2A, which can communicate with the controller through the SPI interface. The maximum output voltage can reach 200Vpp, and users can fine tune the pulse edge conversion to optimize the performance and power consumption of pulse wave, continuous wave, and elastic imaging modes. The chip also integrates a real zero clamping circuit, which can directly force the output node to ground.
In addition, the STHV200 also integrates a protective Flyback diode that clamps to the secondary circulating current when an inductive load occurs, and an anti memory circuit that discharges all internal nodes in the clamping state. The driver also has a built-in output short circuit protection function to prevent danger when the output pins are short circuited. The chip also provides additional internal global inspection and automatic diagnosis functions to ensure safe and reliable working conditions.
The STHV200 has been put into production and is packaged in 7mm x 7mm 48 pin QFN.
