500 million US dollars,Foxconn will build a factory in Telangana, India

    On May 15, Reuters reported that Apple supplier Hon Hai would invest 500 million dollars to build a manufacturing plant in Telangana in southern South India. The Minister of Information Technology of the state stated that the new factory is located in Kongar Kalaan and the first phase will create 25000 direct employment opportunities.
    In March this year, the press release issued by the Chief Minister‘s Office of Telangana, India, pointed out that Liu Yangwei, Chairman of Hon Hai, sent a message to K Chandrasekhar Rao confirmed in his letter that Hon Hai will build an electronics manufacturing factory in Kongar Kalan, Telangana, southern South India, and seek local support to put the new factory into operation as soon as possible. It is estimated that this plan will create about 100000 jobs for the local in the next 10 years.
    It is understood that Hon Hai has expanded its layout in India in recent years. In addition to Telangana, Hon Hai recently announced that its local subsidiary would spend 3 billion Indian rupee (about US $36.456 million) to purchase land in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Hon Hai stated that the purpose of acquiring land is for business needs, and according to previous reports from foreign media, Hon Hai plans to build a new factory in Bangalore to produce iPhone components and assembly capacity.
