The total raised capital exceeded 20 billion yuan! Several domestic car regulation chip companies plan to go public through IPO

Time:2022-12-14 Views:1407
Introduction: Driven by the vigorous development of the domestic electric vehicle industry and the growth of market demand, as the car specification chip with the highest scientific and technological content, the enterprises related to its industrial chain are successively breaking through the science and technology innovation board. The data shows that among the following seven companies related to car regulation chips that have been accepted and have not yet been officially issued, they cover the product technology fields such as communication chips, memory chips, power semiconductors, clock chips, as well as industrial links such as IP licensing, wafer foundry, packaging, and the total amount of funds raised exceeds 25 billion yuan.
On December 12, it was reported that according to Xingkuang data, so far, there are 29 semiconductor companies that have been accepted by the Science and Technology Innovation Board and have not been officially issued. Among them, there are 7 semiconductor companies whose main business or raised investment projects are directly related to car scale chips, including Yutai Microelectronics, Ruichengxin Microelectronics, Penang Electronics, Anson Electronics, Deyi Microelectronics, Ola Shares and Huahong Hongli.

According to the classification of main business, the business layout of the above seven enterprises in the aspect of vehicle specification chips covers the product technology fields such as communication chips, memory chips, power semiconductors, clock chips, as well as industrial links such as IP licensing, wafer foundry, packaging, etc., with a total amount of raised capital of more than 25 billion yuan.
As we all know, compared with consumer level chips, car specification level chips are more difficult to develop due to the stricter working environment. At the same time, due to the extremely high requirements for safety and reliability of vehicle specification level chips, the industrialization cycle is long. According to the industry data, it takes 18-24 months to roll out the design of vehicle specification level chips, and 24-36 months to import and verify the test of vehicle models.
Specifically, packaging is crucial to improve chip reliability. The semiconductor company Penang Electronics, whose core business is the design of protective circuits and the R&D, production and sales of protective components, is under review on the Science and Technology Innovation Board. At present, it is planning to raise 485 million yuan through IPO to improve the high-performance TVS protective devices and other products. It is understood that Penang Electronics has a complete product line in the field of circuit overvoltage protection, and its products have been widely used in security, communications, consumer electronics, automotive electronics, new energy and other fields.

In terms of the design and manufacture of vehicle specification level high reliability chips, Anson Electronics has passed the listing as a meeting for deliberation in July this year. As a semiconductor manufacturer in IDM mode, the company‘s development strategy focuses on chip business, with package testing and semiconductor key materials as two wings. At present, its business focus is also moving towards vehicle specification level applications.
On the other hand, the data shows that the penetration depth of domestic car gauge chips has gradually penetrated into the IP field from their design specifications, which can be seen from the introduction of car gauge verification by IP manufacturers in product development. It is understood that Synopsis Technology of the United States launched a portfolio of automotive interfaces, processors, security and basic IP products that support ISO 26262 functional safety applications; The domestic science and technology innovation board listed company, Xinyuan Shares, also introduced image signal processor IP that conforms to the ISO 26262 standard to speed up the time to market of vehicle scale chips.
As a semiconductor IP licensor, Ruichengxin Micro has completed the first round of inquiry on the technology innovation board listing, and one of the company‘s fund-raising projects includes the research and development of new physical IP products and the development and certification of vehicle gauge level IP solutions, the development of physical IP that meets the requirements of ISO 26262 standard and AEC-Q100 specification, and the formation of its own vehicle gauge level IP solutions for automotive electronics while keeping up with the industry trend.
It is worth mentioning that Huahong Hongli, as a globally important wafer foundry, also aims at the terminal application market in terms of vehicle specification products, and has made technology and process reserves. In November this year, the company announced a plan to raise 15 billion yuan on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, and said that it would build the Huahong Manufacturing (Wuxi) project based on the technology and experience accumulated by Shanghai Huahong Hongli in vehicle specification level processes and products, and further improve and extend the embedded/independent memory, simulation and power management, high-end power devices, logic and RF technology platforms.
From the perspective of product types, it is expected that clock chips will form a market of 3.019 billion US dollars by 2027, driven by the demand for high jitter performance areas such as communications, new energy vehicles and servers. In terms of the marketization progress of on-board clock chips, Ola has launched relevant products, successfully passed customer A certification, and started to apply them in the field of new energy vehicles in batches.
In general, among the above seven companies related to car gauge chips that have been accepted and have not yet been officially issued, from the IPO stage, Yutai Micro has submitted for registration, Anson Electronics has passed the meeting, while Ruicheng Micro, Penang Electronics, Deyi Micro and Huahong Hongli are in the inquiry stage.
