The latest report of trendforce, a market research agency, shows that the revenue of the world‘s top ten wafer manufacturers in the first quarter of 2022 reached US $31.96 billion, with a quarterly increase of 8.2%, of which Hefei Jinghe surpassed gaota semiconductor to rise to the ninth place.

In terms of manufacturers‘ rankings, TSMC ranked first with a revenue of US $17.53 billion, with a quarterly increase of 11.3%. Trendforce pointed out that TSMC benefited from the overall increase in wafer prices in the fourth quarter of last year. These wafers are mainly produced in the first quarter of 2022. In addition, the demand for high-performance computing continues to be strong and the foreign currency exchange rate is better; Samsung Electronics‘ revenue in the quarter was US $5.33 billion, a decrease of 3.9% in the quarter, making it the only wafer foundry with negative revenue growth among the top ten manufacturers; Liandian ranked third with a revenue of US $2.26 billion, a quarterly increase of 6.6%, also benefiting from the rise in wafer prices.
