Recently, the server chip Unicorn company ampere computing, founded by Renee James, former president of Intel and invested by Softbank, Microsoft and Oracle, announced that it had launched the server CPU ampereone based on ARM ISA and TSMC 5nm process, and the new product had sent samples to customers.

Jeff Wittich, chief product officer of axenpei semiconductor, said that the reason for doing self-developed nuclear power is mainly due to the increasing demand of the market and customers. The self-developed nuclear power reflects better performance, power consumption and scalability, helping axenpei semiconductor continue to lead the industry.

Jeff emphasized that the new ampereone was not developed based on neoverse V1 or N2 provided by arm company, but it is still compatible with the previous generation of Altra series processors due to the use of arm Isa.

Founded in october2017, axenpei semiconductor is a unicorn company in the field of server chips, and one of many companies challenging Intel and AMD in the market leadership of data centers and cloud computing chips. Microsoft and Oracle are two of axenpei‘s major customers, and the latter has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the startup.
